wedding chicks

Our wedding has been featured on weddingchicks.com! This is very exciting for me. I don't think Jeffrey fully realizes how big time it is. But he will, oh yes, he will...

Look what they gave me!

Today it will be up on the main page, but after that, click here to see the post. Feel free to leave a comment.

Blogwise, click here to see our wedding, click here to see the reception.

bye, bye evansville

As Jeffrey sat at our favorite Evansville restaurant, Ma T 888 (or China Bistro, for the unauthentic), last Tuesday, our conversation began by the obvious question: are we excited to move? are we ready to leave Evansville? will we miss it? The answers: yes, yes, HAIL NO.

Don't get me wrong, Evansville is cute--plus my family lives there, which was the only reason we were there in the first place. But Evansville lacks people between the ages of 18-25. I mean majorly. If you are not a student at one of the three universities housed by E-ville, fughetaboutit. Jeffrey and I are moving to Utah because we want to expand our social circle beyond my family, Stephen, and Michelle (not that they aren't wonderful--we will miss them so much! We tried to take Michelle with us, seriously).

So to commorate our six months in Evansville, Jeffrey and I decided that night at Ma T 888 to come up with a list of the top five things we will miss most about Evansville (friends and family excluded).

TOP 5 THINGS WE WILL MISS IN EVANSVILLE

1. Ma T 888

I WILL MISS THIS MEAL SO MUCH.

2. Eddie

Okay, we couldn't think of more than two things. Sue me.

In other news, Jeffrey and I went to Branson with his parents and had a terrific time! Jeffrey's dad bought cowboy boots, and therefore I inherited his old ones. They are fantastic.

Jeff's parents bought me this sign:
 (those aren't the boots)

Jeffrey and Santa bonded.

Now we are hanging out in St. Louis until Christmas/New Year is over. And that is about it! Merry Christmas!

week 6

It's official, we are moving to Utah. Now that Jeffrey and I have found a job, school, and apartment out there, are looking forward to leaving the midwest for a while.

Even though it took us (me) forever to find an apartment that exuded enough ambiance and cuteness, I must say that it was worth the wait/frustration. Behold, our new residence:

Well, it's in the basement.
If you notice the large, awkward house behind ours,
it's actually John Taylor's old house. His wives
didn't get along, so they built a second
house (ours) on the same lot.
Or so they say.

A tour!
NOTE: we did not take these pictures.
They are the pictures from the current residents.

Our front door opens into a spacious lobby,
complete with a chandlier and coat closet:
Or, just the kitchen.
But it's so cute!
Look at the counter space!
All of those cabinets!

Next, we have the bathroom.
I know, it may seem huge,
but it's actually smaller than it looks.

First bedroom.
My mom is under the impression that
the entire family will be sleeping
here when they come to visit.

The spacious master bedroom.
I don't think the window placement could
get any more awkward, so
I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with that.

Finally, the little family room
for our little family.

And now what I have in mind (so far) to decorate
(images from designsponge.com)

So obviously I haven't gotten very far. What's nice about having zero furniture (or really anything not kitchen-realated) is that we can start with a blank canvas. I'm looking forward to finding items at garage sales and spiffying them up to looking cool. I'm also excited to buy our fish, Hades. Arkansas and him are going to get along just fine.

week 5

Jeffrey and I had a festive week last week: thanksgiving, our one month anniversary, Harry Potter...

For our one month anniversary, Jeffrey and I went to the gym and I almost died on the stair stepper. Actually I fell off. Apparently I'm really out of shape. Nevertheless, I eventually climbed back on and finished my workout at a much slower pace.

Flashback to Jeffrey and I doing some good ole physical activity.
And yes, I did wear those sandals. It was hot out.

Jeffrey left on Wednesday to go to St. Louis for a basketball game and thanksgiving. Sadly, I could not go because I had to work on Thursday and Friday. So no, we're not having marital issues, I just have to work all the time. Plus thanksgiving is actually just a gateway to the Christmas season so it's not a big deal anyway.

While he was gone, I went to see the new hp movie.
By myself. Very relaxing.
I'm going to do it on a regular basis.

Thanksgiving! I woke up to vegan stuffing (thanks, mom!)
and these lovely napkin roses via Brooke.

I've been thinking about carrying Eddie around like Paris Hilton,
but when I try to dress him up in outfits, he doesn't move.

On Friday, I drove up to St. Louis to meet Jeffrey so we could go have thanksgiving at my grandma's house in Perry. I had a ten page paper due that day (yes, I procrastinated the entire thing).

Also, I made Rampage cookies.
His muscles are stuffed with peanut butter filling.

week 3

I feel like this week has been pretty productive, but when I actually sit here and think about what we've done for the past few days, I realize we haven't done...anything? School, work, church...pretty much the standards.

I am growing very attached to this book.
Which is sad, because it's the library's.
If anyone reading this wants to get me this book and it's
counterpart for Christmas, I would be okay with that.

EVERY recipe I've tried is delicious. Okay, so I've only tried two. But they were so delicious, Jeffrey even ate them at his own free will!

Mmm look at that homemade Oreo!
I've adopted the frosting recipe as my own.

In other news, my parents sold our new house. For those who don't know, we (and by we, I mean Sam and Cathy aka my padres) have been trying to sell our old house (which is across the street from our new one) for about three years now. I guess they got tired of having a summer home. So they sold our new one and now we're moving back to the old one. Which is great, because now we can go on vacation again.

I have been coping with my Grippos addiction.

Jeffrey and I both went on a date last night. Except Jeffrey went on a date with my dad and I went on a date with Michelle. Michelle and I ate a Eclipse, a Spanish tapas bar that I had a gift card to.

The food was good, but the service was horrible.
Luckily, we had items to discuss, otherwise it would've been a long night.

I found some gems whilst poking around on Facebook. These come from my sister, Madi.

 (yawning)

(enjoying cake)

(jeff wiping tears off his face. my tears.)

Okay, so on my computer, our graphic to the left isn't cut off, but on Jeff's computer it is. Can everyone see our silhouette in it's fullness, or do I have a problem?
